16.3 Redwater “Redwater” is a common problem related to the urinary system and indicates that the urine is red in color. It is important to determine the cause of redwater before using expensive medicines for treatment. There is a simple field test to help distinguish certain causes of red-colored urine. See page 287. The term for blood cells in the urine is “hematuria.”
