Intermediate Host The organism in which immature parasites develop is called an intermediate host. Except for tapeworms, the parasite does not usually cause serious illness in the intermediate host.
Larvae Immature forms of various parasites are also called larvae. Larvae often cause damage to internal organs if they travel through the body.
