25.5 Nutrient Deficiencies Review: Any time livestock do not have enough of a certain nutrient, they are deficient in that nutrient. For example, if they do not have enough minerals, they have a “mineral deficiency.” If they do not have enough protein, they have a “protein deficiency.” Animals deficient in one nutrient are often deficient in other nutrients also.
